The basic distinctive feature of “Duo Straps” act is that the artists perform effective, complex tricks, absolutely without safety harness. Among them, “Double Mouthpiece” is an originally-authored trick, which nobody executed before (and still has not executed to this day)without a safety harness; in addition, “Horizon” (artists execute a “double horizon” element) is another among multiple other original tricks.
Also, the act has an original choreography.
Dmitriy and Olesia, worked twice with a well-known choreographer Debra Brown
(Emmy Awards 2002, Choreography), owing to the fact that “Duo Straps” can be easily adapted in different shows.
And certainly, we proud of our exclusive music.
Which was composed special for our act by composer Paul Bisson, (Composer and singer Cirque Du Soleil, Canada).
Based on a great experience of work in circus (19 years), Dmitriy can set-up a suspension bracket the device on different stages, amphitheaters, circuses.

Dmitriy was born in 1976, in the city of Lugansk, Ukraine. At once, upon termination of school, owing to a meeting with old circus performers -Valentina and Alexander Mak, Dmitriy started to take the first steps in the circus arts. In November, 1991, he began working in “The Ukrainian State Circus” company with “Air Trapeze” act. At 15 years of age, Dmitriy’s professional circus career had begun. The act was executed with dynamics and display of complex tricks without safety harness and already after one year of work, Dmitriy had the status of an “artist of high category". Having worked in “The Ukrainian State Circus” until 1999, Dmitriy decided to start his own career. And in 2000, in common with well-known Ukrainian director Nikolay Baranov, he created an act -“Russian memories” (aerial solo straps). The act worked in leading Ukrainian and Russian circuses with great success. But Dmitriy had one more idea on realization of a more complex and effective act - “Duo straps”.
In 2003 Dmitriy went to Japan where Olesia (sister-in-law) was working in a Cirque du Soleil show “Quidam”. Dmitriy offered Olesia to rehearse “Duo Straps” together.

Olesia was born in 1977, in the city of Kiev, Ukraine. Since the age of five she started to engage in sports gymnastics and continued to devote herself to professional sports for the next 16 years (1982-1998). In addition, she has reached high ranks and awards, such as:

“Masterof Sports of USSR”
“International Master of Sports”
“Ukrainian National Champion”
“Bronze Medalist of the “Star of the world”” (1992)
“World Championships” participant (1994, Dortmund, Germany).
“Gold Medalist of the World University Games” (Gold medal, 1995 Fukuoka, Japan).

In 1999 Olesia received an invitation to perform an “air hoops act” for Cirque du Soleil show “Quidam” (Canada). In addition, she participated at the International Circus Festival in Monte-Carlo (2002). She performed this act in cities across USA, Europe, and Japan. And so, while working in Quidam (Japan tour 2003), Olesia and Dmitriy began rehearsing -“Duo Straps.”In the end of tour, on “Quidam’s” amateur “Cabaret Show,” Dmitriy and Olesia presented “Duo Strap” act, after which, “Quidam’s” artistic director
Pierre Parisien has invited the two artists to perform in the show permanently. Since June 2004, “Duo Straps” began working in “Quidam,” and with great success, traveled one and a half
year in Asia-Pacific Tour (2004-05): Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, and Hong-Kong. Guy Laliberte (Founder and Chief Executive Officer of “Cirque du Soleil”) visited “Quidam” in Singapore and for the first time sawb”Duo straps”. After the show he met the artists, and personally invited them to perform for Cirque’s new, already-working show “Corteo”. After one month of rehearsals at Cirque’s International Headquarters, “Duo Straps” was adapted and ready for the new show. In “Corteo” act working in USA tour 2006. It is was great time and experience to perform in “Cirque Du Soleil”. But the desire to grow their careers, perform at circus festivals, and famous places around the world did not leave the artists.
